FIRST LOOK: Boring Boyfriend's launch collection
October 20, 2021 — The Philippines-based brand has launched masc-silhouetted collection inspired by authentic human connection, flaws, and male empowerment.
The first collection of Boring Boyfriend Collective consists of eight (8) statement pieces including loose fit cotton shirts, matte sunglasses, silk scarves, and twill caps, all in exquisite and polished tones that can be worn and styled together.
75% of the collection were produced and assembled outside the Philippines through the brand director's network of manufacturers built during his academic period at the world's leading fashion school, Central Saint Martins (University of the Arts London).
Jamon Martin, Director and Founder of Boring Boyfriend Collective, said: "Launching this brand has always been a dream of mine ever since I came back from London. I strategically decided to work with my friends from the other side of the world to help me bring this launcher pieces to life for my first collection. I wanted the brand to be known for style and quality, injected with hard work and exclusivity proven by materials that are sourced globally."
"The thing about working with international manufacturers though is that the process of production is a struggle to monitor, especially the little details of a specific design. I've already expected that there will be flaws in the final output, but I still wanted the pieces to be sold that way. In life, and talking from experience, we tend to focus more on the curated, polished outcome and remember very little of the first few tries. I wanted to remind my friends that even the 'almosts' and 'flaws' are meant to be celebrated. They should serve as a good reminder of the journey." he added.
The director and founder also hinted that we should "expect a higher share of pieces (in the next collection) that are locally manufactured as they are already in the works."
Retail prices start from ₱995.00 to ₱1,295.00.
